Most of my pieces begin from photos I snap on my phone as I'm just going about living and all that jazz. I was driving back into town from my parents' house one day and saw these great clouds just hanging over Whitewater Hill, which is the great divide between the City of Grand Junction and the wild awesome to the south that is NOT the city. Yep, I like all that is NOT the city...that's why I love western Colorado. :)
Anyway, when I first started this scene, I replaced the edge of the road with wild grass and sage before it rolled down away from the viewer. It felt claustrophobic, so I ditched that and just headed for the hills.
These great eagles soar high above our area a lot...they love it here as much as I do!
